Mounting a rugged tablet computer - From mobile to stationary applications

After ruggedness, mobility is one of the most important requirements for businesses investing in a rugged tablet for their workplace; but sometimes employees need to use their tablet in a stationary fashion. The ability to easily switch from a handheld to a mounted tablet can increase employee efficiency and productivity across a range of industries including field service, manufacturing, retail and many others. That's why Accentec Technologies offers mounting options for every rugged tablet and case we offer.

Fixed or stationary systems.

Snap Mount. Snap-mount technology is the perfect tool when you need your tablet securely mounted in one location one moment, but on the go the next. We offer several snap mounts that work with the snap plate found on almost all of our rugged tablets and cases. The quick release mechanism is designed for quick transitions between mount and location.

Wall Mount. For scenarios where carrying a tablet isn't always necessary, a standard wall mount can be an attractive option: as a timekeeping mechanism, a point-of-sale (POS) device, an interactive display for customers, access to product instructions, a departmental productivity dashboard, or even a central location for various inventory checks.

Magnetic Mount. We also offer a magnetic system that allows your tablet to be mounted quickly and easily without the need for drilling! The magnetic base with four strong earth magnets works on any flat metal surface and can hold up to 50 pounds, so you can rest assured that a tablet will stay firmly in place. Long snap rail, short snap rail and RAM C-BALL are available as options.

Vehicle mounts

Many industries require tablets that can be easily transported from the field to a vehicle. Accentec Technologies cradle systems can be installed in vehicles to increase employee efficiency and productivity. There are several options for installing mounts in a vehicle, including the dashboard and center console. However, these methods require drilling directly into the vehicle, which is not an option for some. We offer a solution that does not require drilling. Thanks to our snap-on mounting system, the mount can be attached to the floor screw of the passenger seat, and usually only one wrench is needed for installation.

Our tablet's long-lasting batteries can last a full workday, but if you run numerous programs and applications, you may need to charge the device while in use. Our tablets can be plugged directly into a vehicle battery or auxiliary power outlet, or check out our Powered Mounting Dock.

Forklift Mounts

Using rugged tablets gives businesses an advantage because the device can be quickly removed from a dock or mount to scan barcodes, inspect products, or simply move from the forklift to the job site. There are several options when it comes to mounting a cradle for forklifts. Here are a few common mounting options:

Rod. Can be attached to one of the four vertical cab poles that support the overhead guard

Dashboard. The least visually obtrusive option.

Step. Attaches to the step with a swivel arm; with this method, the tablet is located to the side of the operator.

Overhead guard. Popular with companies that lease their forklifts as no drilling is required.

We combine our proprietary Snap Mount technology with RAM Mounting Systems and Gamber Johnson for the mounting system. This combination provides a stable, vibration-resistant hold for easy installation and an optimal mobile computing and display experience with any of the mounting options.

Mounting a rugged tablet is an easy and efficient way to increase productivity while keeping your tablet safe and secure, yet mobile if needed. Interested in learning more? Request to download our Step-by-Step Guide to Mounting Rugged Tablets Whitepaper or reach out to out.
