SCRATCH-RESISTANT AND ROBUST TOUCHSCREENS FOR AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
As control elements in agricultural machinery, touchscreens must not be restricted in their function by shocks, possible impacts and vibration. Nor can they be used cleanly and carefully in agricultural operations, as dirt and dust are unavoidable. The scratch-resistant and robust surface of touchscreens is particularly suitable for use in this harsh environment. While many resistive touchscreens are quickly scratched even by dust and are thus limited in their function, Accentec Technologies offers with these patented glass-film-glass touchscreens the highest scratch and impact resistance. Even in the event of a deep scratch, the touch panel continues to function perfectly.
The touchscreens can be operated with gloves without any problems, as it is a purely pressure-based technology. Thus, the touchscreens are universally operable, and contribute to easy and fast operation of the machines. The borosilicate glass surface of the screen is completely insensitive to dirt or even moisture and can therefore be operated with oily or dirty fingers without hesitation. Even direct contact with moisture will not damage the touch panel in the slightest. The microglass surface completely shields the screen from moisture and does not leak over time, as can be the case with conventional polyester (PET) laminations. The touchscreens can therefore be safely cleaned and disinfected - even chemical cleaning agents do not harm the screen, which is advantageous when constantly coming into contact with dirt and dust in agricultural environments.

In addition to the many criteria of durability and ease of use that Accentec Technologies touchscreens offer, it is also important to us to meet the optical requirements. To ensure good visibility, the driver's cabs in tractors and combine harvesters are equipped with large windows - in High Visio cabs even completely glazed - so the integrated touch screens are often in sunlight. Accordingly, we developed touchscreens specially adapted for readability in sunlight. For our touchscreens we use a very high quality optical laminate, which allows sharp contrasts and readability of the touchscreen even in direct sunlight.
